Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital Speech-Language Pathology Services
Speech-language pathologists (SLP), as defined by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), are professionals who hold the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), which requires a master's or doctoral degree. ASHA-certified SLPs complete a supervised postgraduate professional experience and pass a national examination. Demonstration of continued professional development is mandated for the maintenance of the CCC-SLP. They also must hold a Kansas state license. At Susan B. Allen, SLPs are an integral member of a patient’s care team.
